  • Salza was a world where the monarchy had set up some insane rules. Now the beginning of this insanity was from a so-called sane desire to find happiness. To find that ever lasting joy which one hears about right from childhood, and it feels like a milestone which we will some day reach.

    The monarchy thought the only way this is possible is to drill down the ideals of “spirituality”, “freedom”, “acceptance” in such a way that people have no choice but to somehow reach their goal of everlasting happiness. The ideal was well-intentioned. .

    But the consequences were very dire. The entire population was filled with people who spoke like each other and thought like each other. They claimed to be free, travelling their beautiful world, claiming to be like the saints from ancient civilisations. They said all the right words and did all the right actions. Only the discerning observer could see their smiles didn’t reach their eyes.

    But there was a catch. They could not keep up this persona all day. You see, just repeating that you’re peaceful and happy, all day, isn’t enough. Something inside doesn’t accept that. The only way they could fall asleep at night was when they cried their hearts out. All of them howled themselves to sleep every night. The burden on their heart wouldn’t let them be otherwise. Salza was a world like no other, but at night the piercing shrieks of its people would even make the gods shake....
