- 📍Scheveningen, Netherlands 🇳🇱 I’ve been craving being able to be outside and have the feeling of relaxation rather than being energetic. Thankfully this past weekend was able to cater for that as the weather picked up and the sun was out. I haven’t seen many sunsets better than this one either, probably my favourite. The way the sun radiates off the wet sand but shadows the people below is magical to me. I’m grateful that I’m able to visit places and live where natural beauty like this occurs, it’s a pleasure. I love the pier here too, it is going to be a really fun place to come to in the summer and hang out at, relatively cheap food with a good buzz, plus there is a zip line which takes you from the far end back to land, how cool is that? 😁

When you think of Death Valley, what first comes to mind?

Barren, desert, heatwave, death?

Well, my first impression before ever setting foot there was all of the above! It’s certainly barren, but no where near the level of its stigma, as I was surprised at just how much there was to explore. Moreover being October, the temperatures were warm but not unbearable.

Take Zabriskie Point for example, which was formed from sediments from Furnace Creek Lake many millions of years ago. I never expected to see such breathtaking scenery in such a place as a desert. Go figure!

Although this shot was taken at sunset, when visiting, be sure to visit at sunrise vs sunset to experience the most stunning warm pastel colors.

- Last Monday night, my wife badly sprained her left ankle and broke her right ankle. Yes, she twisted her ankle so bad that the connective tissue from her right foot ripped off a piece of her tibia bone. Not fun at all. She has been unable to walk for the past week. She’s been patiently waiting to get surgery while dealing with the pain. She was fasting all day and today around 7pm she was finally called into the OR. Not even 2 minutes into our drive we got a call back saying that there was a change of plans as an emergency surgery took her place and now she is bumped for tomorrow. She cried then laughed while I sat there totally frustrated.
She then smiled and said, “Well, atleast I now get to eat!”
Wifey, you are strong and you encourage others even when you are in pain. You always find a way to smile. You are a gift to us all. There is no doubt in my mind that your strength comes from God as you look to rely on Him. You inspire me and my heart is grateful for your life. ❤️
