  • I recently heard of the act of savouring. It means that in order to be happy, sometimes you just have to take a moment and be happy. Just be in that moment, smile, and recognise that it’s a good moment. I’ve been trying to do that with my little girl, knowing that this probably the last time we will experience the wonder of a one year old first hand. I think one of the magical things about having two kids is that one is your first everything and the other is your last everything. It’s quite sweet isn’t it? •
I challenge you to find a moment to cherish and smile about today. It doesn’t have to be related to kids! Share it in the comments so we can all smile with you!

This moment was captured by my son as my little baby was exploring everything and kept coming back to mama for little check ins. 🥰

  • I’ve been sharing tons through stories but haven’t posted in a bit. The last time I did I still owned my old van and it has now been sold, which was a tough decision. The plan was to buy a home in the mountains, but when it came time to make an offer I had a weird anxiety and something seemed off. .
    +
Then a few days later I knew it wasn’t the traveling life that wasn’t fitting, it was my previous van that wasn’t fitting what we needed. I wanted to stand up inside, Baron needed more room (he’s getting old) and honest I didn’t want to be cold and wanted proper heat. .
    +
I started doing what I had done almost 4 years earlier and looked at cargo vans to convert for what we needed, looked at a few motorhomes, but when I brought Baron to view them he was having troubles moving around. They were still a bit too squishy for his 110 lbs turning radius and I felt I was still giving things up even with the big price tags. .
    +
Then out of no where our new home popped up in my hunt, which has been in my stories. It definitely isn’t as small and compact as my old van, but for its size it packs a punch perfect for us and then some. .
    +
Could I stand up, yup, can Baron turn around easily, sure can, was there heat!!!, you bet. Plus things that are a bonus. A full bathroom, yes, full bed, say what?!, and a couch. Normally those last two are ones in the same. .
    +
A piece of me feels I took the lazy road by buying a motorhome, but honestly I didn’t have another build in me and even my small van was expensive to do. Buying this I get warranty on both the inside and the van itself which is a ford transit. If something goes wrong (which always does) I just take it in and it’s fixed. I’m pretty handy, but it’s nice having it all covered. .
    +
Obviously this decision isn’t the right one for everyone, but it’s perfect for us and getting back out on the road faster. Baron deserves to run in the sand, roll in the snow and watch the road go by riding shotgun. .
    +
We’ll be doing the weekday warrior thing for a while keeping my business rolling along too before heading out FT for a bit. Happy travels to everyone and feel free to ask my anything like always. 🌸

  • 📍Taos, New Mexico, USA
    〰️
In January, we visited Taos for the first time and it was a great little adventure! We skied @skitaos which was incredible, ate delicious food (mostly our body weight in green chili 😂), hiked to the Rio Grande Gorge bridge, and visited beautiful art galleries featuring local artists. If you’re heading that way, be sure to reach out because we stayed at the cutest AirBnB with the most gracious hosts and I’d love to share that gem with you 😘

  • Many years ago, my wife saw her dream house “For Sale By Owner.” Not believing there was a need for a professional realtor, I thought I would deal direct with an owner. After all, what could go wrong? All I had to do was write the man a cheque. Well, not knowing what could go wrong, I learned the hard way. The bank I dealt with totally messed up my bridge loan, allowing me to carry 2 mortgages at once. I was told that if I did not get an offer by the closing date I would not be able to pay the bridge financing in place. This meant that the seller of the home could hire a realtor and charge me the cost of selling the home. That meant a $30,000 bill and I would not even get the home. Fortunately, on the last day of closing, our professional realtor got us an offer and we closed 30 minutes before the deadline. If I had used a professional realtor, I would have saved all the stress and had a much easier transaction all because I did not know what could go wrong. 💭

  • Morning workspace. The staff were setting up in winter gear, and we Midwesterners are the only ones sitting outside. How can I pass up this weather when it’s snowing back home? #LifeOnTheRoad #California #BandsOnTourAgain

  • WE BOUGHT A VAN!
This is our very first picture in our van after a quick stop to home depot to pick up some goodies! We are so excited to be embarking on this journey of building a van together.
This is our first van conversion so we are always going to be learning, researching and growing.
One thing very important to me is staying active. I've grown up always playing sports and working out. When I moved to BC that opened up a whole new world of possibilities and activities for me try and fall in love with.
Staying healthy is so much more than just the gym, which is something most people know but don't take full advantage of.

    I'm sharing my experience.

  • The most magical experience was horse back riding in the mountains of New York this past October. There was so much color in the forest at that time of year. It’s hard to explain how refreshing this was.

Cinch ‘em Up Stables is on the border of New York and western Massachusetts, right near the Berkshires. I highly suggest planning a trip there in the fall! 🐴🌲🍁

  • We started this trip to Baja alone, a little nervous, and anxious to explore the unknown. Traveling most of Baja solo has been an amazing experience, one I’d advise you to try at one point in your life. Driving all the way south on the peninsula and then turning around to drive back north, those are just miles on pavement, everything else was what we’ll relish dearly in our memories. Life in-between those miles was filled with broken Spanglish, new friends, reuniting with old friends, tacos, beach hopping from the Sea of Cortez to the Pacific, waterfalls, whales, tamales, geothermal beaches, sunshine, more Mexican beer and tequila than what seems normal to consume, a few stressful moments here and there, and of course so much laughter.
    _
This is our last day in Mexico. After two months south of the border, leaving is a bittersweet feeling, we’re excited to go back to the states, but there’s an underlying tug at our hearts, a yearning to stay longer. We’ll miss you Mexico, until next time!

  • When getting out of your driveway is just gonna have to wait...
    .

This snapshot is from a couple of days away when a Momma Moose decided to take a nap in front of our Jeep. Her calf was nearby exploring as she took what looked like a much needed power nap. #recharge #momlife #wildlife #5moreminutes
