    I often get asked “is a protein shake a good idea from someone who wants to lose weight?”. My answer to that is yes, because a shake can be an easy & convenient way to get in more protein and have a healthy snack.
    .
    Now, you don’t have to get a protein powder if you don’t want to. You could also use Greek yogurt like I did in the 3rd shake example. However, I love a good chocolate protein powder because it satisfies my sweet tooth while still being a healthy option!
    .
    My current favorite protein powders are @atp_labs whey protein and @vega_team performance protein - both healthy and clean options. Below is the breakdown of the macros for each shake - remember to add water, ice and stevia as needed:
    .
    🥜 PB&J shake weight loss - 261 cals, 38g protein, 30g carbs, 4.5g fat.
    . 🥜 PB&J shake muscle gain - 501 cals, 41g protein, 54g carbs, 18.5g fat.
    .
    🍫 Mocha shake weight loss - 224 cals, 25.5g protein, 9.8g carbs, 9.2g fat.
    .
    🍫 Mocha shake muscle gain - 459 cals, 32g protein, 45g carbs, 18.2g fat
    .
    🌴 Tropical shake weight loss (I added stevia too) - 202 cals, 15g protein, 23g carbs, 6.6g fat.
    .
    🌴 Tropical shake muscle gain (I added stevia too) - 456 cals, 31g protein, 50g carbs, 17g fat.
    .
    Reminder, these are just examples but you can make anything in between. Sometimes 1 scoop protein with water & ice is all I need for a low calorie snack!

    Я не употребляю в пищу сахар. Раньше добавляла сахарозаменитель, но сейчас я в этом просто не нуждаюсь. 🤷
    .
    Единственный добровольно-принудительный момент - это еда в тайских заведениях. Тайцы добавляют сахар во все: шейки из заведомо сладких фруктов, маринады, в мясо, в салаты, в супы... Везде. 😁 Только это не рафинад, а кокосовый сахар. Ничего не могу сказать, вкус блюд он очень оттеняет. Но сама я готовлю без него. И выезжаю на натуральных подсластителях из фруктов и меда. 😉

    Сезон клубники продолжается, поэтому я решила себе сделать джем, который не требует варки. Его здорово добавлять в каши, на тосты, как начинку. Я довольна. И хочу попробовать с другими фруктами. А пока предлагаю попробовать приготовить джем 🍓 с клубникой!

    🍓 Клубника 150 г
    🌰 Семена чиа 25 г
    .
    Если клубника свежая, то просто пюрируем блендером. Если замороженная, то размораживаем. Если воду не хотите сливать, то увеличьте количество чиа на 5-10 грамм.
    .
    Соединяем клубничное пюре и чиа, тщательно перемешиваем ложкой. Складываем в банку и отправляем на ночь в холодильник. На утро получится густой великолепный джем. 😍
    .
    Если изначально клубника не очень сладкая, то рекомендую добавить подсластитель. Это может быть мед, стевия, кленовый сироп, кокосовый сахар и т.д. Выбирайте на свой вкус и формат питания. Количество варьируйте по вкусовым ощущениям. 😉

  • Salsa Verde. This is one of my favorite condiments to make for my meal preps. It’s quick and super easy to make. It adds lots of flavor to your meats and vegetables for very few calories!! .

    I’m a huge fan of adding some sauce on the sides of your meals. Adding a sauce like this salsa verde creates an additional layer of freshness to your meal preps that brings them up a level. Having something that brings lots of flavor and changes temperatures can trick your mind into thinking your meal was made today instead of at the beginning of the week 😎😎 .

    Making your own salsa is not as hard as you may think. Plus it just tastes better when you make it yourself!! All you need to do is pull the husk from the tomatillos, peel the garlic, cut the onion in half, and chop the stems from the peppers. Place those in some boiling water until the tomatillos turn army green and then drain the water. Put the ingredients into a blender and add the cilantro, lime juice, and salt to taste. That’s all it takes 🙃🙃

    This entire recipe is only 112 calories so splitting it into 4 or 5 meals for your meal preps adds lots of flavor for few calories to your dishes. If you don’t like spicy foods, leave out the Serrano!!
