  • Restaurant Review:
Today we had the pleasure of trying out the new @parmacafemtl location on Beaver Hall Hill in downtown Montreal!
If you’ve been following us for a while, you know the Bishop Street location is one of our favourite restaurants in Montreal. I have good news - the new location is exactly as awesome as the original.
We started our lunch with the classic Chicken Cutlet Sandwich with added Cheese and eggplant, with extra spicy oil. The sandwich is heavenly; the chicken cutlets are fried perfectly for just a little crunch and the spicy oil gives it a nice kick. The bread is the best bread of any sandwich anywhere in Montreal. (Secret - it’s delivered daily from a bakery in East End of Montreal). Next, we tried the Arancini balls, which come three per order, resting in a bowl of fresh tomato sauce. This is a good side dish to share because it is generously stuffed with the melted cheese in the middle 😮. For our second sandwich, we went with the Steak Panini with sautéed onions, mushrooms, lettuce, tomatoes and cheese. From our experience it’s tough to find a good steak sandwich in our city and this one doesn’t disappoint. It’s packed with steak, perfectly cooked with the melted cheese on top and squished between the famous Parma bread. The chicken is still our favourite, but this is a close second.
As a side we ordered the Homemade Fries with Truffle mayonnaise, and they were amazing! You can taste the freshness of the potato, and the Italian seasoning adds a nice flavour; and, of course, dipping each fry into the truffle mayo makes it that much better.
For dessert we went with the famous Parma Nutella horn. OMG! We need to carry these around in our pockets - they’re so good! It’s no secret why they’re famous!
You need to add @parmacafemtl to your list of restaurants to try.
They are open every day of the week, with generous hours, and currently have two locations!
Make sure to check it out. If you visit the Bishop location ask for Anthony, he’ll take good care of you; and if you visit the Beaver Hall location, ask for Hugo, he’ll be the one to take care of you.
    Tell them @i_love_mtl sent you.

  • We needed to use up some bell peppers tonight, so out came this #CleanOutTheFridge meal. The only thing we purchased were some organic sausages. They were cooked and sliced, and served up with caramelized onion and peppers, finished with chick peas, fresh tomato sauce and tossed with baby spinach. One pan meal for the win!
