  • Look at these beautiful rose hips I found yesterday, hidden in a nook, behind a bay tree and a strawberry myrtle. They were like bright Jewels hidden from sight; a real gift.
I picked a few to dry for teas and infusions.
When I was a kid I always searched for the little nooks away from other folk, the places that humans didn’t visit or even see were there.
There was and still is something safe and calming about these places for me, they have an air of mystery and a wilder energy from being left alone.
I nearly always find something that intrigues me in these places, something surprising and inspiring that has been able to thrive away from too many eyes and feet. ————————————————

  • Impromptu getaway to the Northern Coast of NSW. At last had the chance to swim in the most #beautiful #peaceful warm #healing waters of Lake Ainsworth.

When Tea Tree #plants grow beside a lake, as in this case, their supernatural oil drips down into the water, creating something similar to a ‘medical bath’. It #colours the water so it looks like a cup of tea with an oily film on top. One might think it doesn’t look very appetising but the water is totally fresh. And the tea tree oil will work wonders on the skin. After a good long soaking I come out of the #lake feeling fresh and revitalised!

The Bundjalung, Australian Aborigines Northern Coast of NSW, were the first to use the Tea Tree plant for #medical reasons. They would take some leaves from the tea tree plant and crush them up. Once crushed they would rub them into bites, grazes, burns and other skin irritations. They would also use it as an insect repellent. These days Tea Tree oil is used to treat acne, cold sores, dandruff and many more ailments.
