    Here is an excerpt from an untitled poem: •
    For We are permafrost in the wilderness
    Unable to feel warmth fully most days
    Unsure if there is enough light to nourish our multitudes
    Life reaching to sources outside our ecosystems •
    You tell me, we learned this from our mothers.
    How to survive the cold
    with grain alcohol and lavender •
    Lemongrass memories collecting dust on my altar
    Til the pangs of spring
    Coax my body to medicine
    Coax my spirit to my roots •
