  • Needed a light day today. Planned on swimming again, but my elbow was killing me (thank you crutches, I think I have now developed tendonitis in it), so figured I'd do a little on the bike and some core. Went to warm up and realized how sore my right quad is (Friday and Saturday workouts catching up to me), so just some time with my exercise ball for some core moves it was! Hit up the hot tub after and relaxing now. So important to listen to your body and rest and recover when you need it!

  • PART ONE: RECOVERY...
Read to the end, to understand♥️. I strongly believe that it takes a lot of courage to show vulnerability. Life (GOD)has taught me that when we release our pain, and own our vulnerability, we create space for our healing.. The first photo is me at age 17.
3 years into a powerful eating disorder, that manifested from painful childhood traumas that resided in slumber, deep within my subconscious mind. That unaddressed pain began to fester as I grew older, you see..
It became projected through anger, self loathing, #bodydysmorphia #depression , and self infliction... that pain began to express in my self destruction. The second/third photos are me, fully (physically) recovered at the age of 22. At this point I was still dealing with after shocks of body dysmorphia, anxiety and anger.. but I thought I was fully recovered because I was no longer under weight.. life showed me other wise.. When I turned 24, I had a dream that awoke a pain within me so familiar! And yet... strange to my present mind... For the longest time I always thought that I was fighting an eating disorder... but, I never understood MY eating disorder... I just accepted it for just that, and never questioned why it even took place to begin with... The heavy truth was, that I was fighting a trauma so shocking, so painful, that the only thing a 3 year old could possibly do to cope with it.. was to store the horrific memories away. I’ve been surviving my life for 24 years.. allowing fear to reign over my mind and body. The final pictures are of me NOW fully recovered at 25, living a life I never thought could be possible for me.
We don’t have control on what life has in store for us.. But by no means does that indicate that we are hopeless... Our power, and freedom lies on how we
R E S P O N D to what happens to us. I’t wasn’t/isn’t easy overcoming all those obstacles.. but every fall I’ve had, (and continue to have) have lead to my biggest come backs. And I’m not backing down any time soon. TBC... #recovery #transformation #mentalhealthawareness #eatingdisorderrecovery #myfitnessjourney #nevergiveup #keepfighting #speakyourtruth
