  • #writersblock has me reflecting on the #writing process tonight. I decided to go back to the beginning to where it all started for me. Last July, I wrote a #suspense #novella called “Letters to Anna” which revolved around four characters- Clay, Joel, Ben and the letters they wrote to the main character, Anna. It was such a fun story to write, despite how poorly written it was. It was my first attempt at second person narrative -a skill I have not yet mastered, but am still trying to despite how uncommon and unusual it is. It was the first story that I had written in years and looking at it now, it makes me miss when I used to write for fun and when I didn’t worry about deadlines and editing. I just wrote for the pure enjoyment of it and somehow, I need to find a balance between those aspects of #awriterslife I have stories that I want to share, but the past few nights have left me drained and unable to get back to where I was writing consistently. And it stinks because I know the words are there, but they won’t come to the surface. Can anyone relate? Anyway, I hope you enjoy this little #excerpt . I would never refer to this story as anything other than what it was- the very beginning of a writer’s journey to find her voice. It was the romance in this story that made me want to become a romance writer. I’m grateful this story came along exactly when I needed it to. #writersofinstagram #authorsofinstagram #reflection #amwriting #writerscommunity #writingcomminity #amreading #bookstagram #thriller #drama #angst
