- #ahirvaferunany que passàvem el nostre darrer dia a Laos. Un dia i mig a #vientiane , la capital més tranquil·la que hem pogut conèixer.

Tenint Laos racons tan preciosos, Vientiane sembla poca cosa. Però, tot i així, hi ha alguna cosa interessant de veure. El centre de visitants COPE n'és un d'ells. Allà s'explica el que va passar en paral·lel a la guerra del Vietnam. El que en diuen la Guerra Secreta, que té el trist récord de fer de Laos el país més bombardejat de la història. Durant deu anys les bombes queien cada 8 minuts. En aquest centre s'eplica aquesta guerra, el mal que segueixen fent les "bombetes" que van quedar sense explotar i que van quedar enterrades per tot el país. Tot plegat en un lloc que "teòricament" era una zona neutral. També es pot conèixer tot el treball que es fa per trobar aquestes bombes sense explotar, la tasca de sensibilització de la població i la rehabilitació de les víctimes que han perdut les seves extremitats topant per accident amb una bombeta ja sigui cuinant, jugant, treballant al camp...

Conèixer aquesta història desconeguda desperta la ignorància de tantes coses que no sabem que passen en aquest món que és el mateix per tothom... I desperta alhora la curiositat per voler saber més i conèixer més.

Alguns racons més com temples, i passejar pel gran parc que hi ha a la vora del riu, i acabar de gaudir de la cuina laosiana són algunes de les coses que es poden fer en aquesta petita ciutat.

- December 27th, 2018. “My Big Fat Lao Wedding”
One of my friends got invited to a wedding, and we as westerners were grouped into the invitation as well. So I put on my best clothes (literally I had nothing nicer to wear) and let the hair down figuring it’d help me blend in lol.
There was never any blending in for me in Asia. I always stood out like a sore thumb, whether it was walking down the street or bumping into a table because my legs couldn’t fit under it.
So I was easy to spot and because a lot of people over there love taking pictures with westerners I had a tonnnnn of people come up to me asking for selfies. This time however, I got a photo of my own figuring it was a special occasion and all.
