  • Go deep on your deficits- It’s embarrassing that I even have to mention this, but the entire point of creating a deficit (standing on a step or blocks) is to go deeper than normal. If you’re not going deeper, then there’s no need for the elevation; you can just stand on the ground. ⁣

    While this is painfully obvious to most of you, I get tagged in numerous videos on IG and probably 50% of the ones showing deficit variations don’t actually go deeper than the standard lift. ⁣

  • ⚡️HAMSTRING STRENGTH⚡️⁣

    ⁉️Want strong, injury resistant hamstrings? Then you should be doing slider leg curls!⁣

    🐷They’re super easy to do and arguably a better way to train the hamstrings compared to tradition machine leg curls. All you need is a pair of furniture sliders on a piece of turf/carpet and you’re good to go.⁣

    🤦‍♂️Here’s the thing though...⁣

    ❌People like the screw these up. In particular, they tend to make these 2 mistakes:⁣

    1️⃣Sagging Hips 🙄⁣
    This tells me that you’re not engaging your glutes enough!⁣

    One of the cool things about slider leg curls compared to traditional machine leg curls is that you can train the glutes isometrically at the same time... take advantage of it!⁣

    2️⃣Excessive Low Back Arch 🤢⁣
    This tells me that you’re overworking your low back muscles!⁣

    A lot of people, athletes in particular, have overactive low back muscles contributing to their poor posture (namely anterior pelvic tilt). Stop contributing to the problem!⁣

    🤔So how should you do them??⁣

    ✅Engage your abs! Do this by bringing the bottom of your rib cage toward your hips (crunching motion) and hold this in place the entire time!⁣

    ✅Engage your glutes! There should be a straight line from your shoulders to your knees the ENTIRE set. If you’re doing this right, you’re hips will gradually raise up and down as your feet move.⁣

    📝Side note: it helps to do these slow and controlled, especially as you lower yourself!⁣
