  • Don’t ever underestimate the importance of the basics and accessory work in any lifting or or fitness program.
There’s always some tweaking, refining, and something new to learn when you pull it back to the beginning—the building blocks, your foundation.
    An advanced yogi?
Take a Level I class. Be a student of your body and anatomy. Rediscover your love for yoga. Listen to someone else cue down dog and chaturanga. Walk away with a new vocabulary to bring to your classes and /or a new discovery for something seemingly regular in your practice.
    A weight lifter?
Tackle the work to make you stronger, not just your big lifts. Pull ups, lunges, the leg press, good mornings, and don’t forget a lil’ cardio too. Commit to being a well-rounded athlete.
    A dancer?
Take a class to just take class—not like you’re auditioning for The Grand Ballet (I dunno, is that even a thing? Sounds good to me). Just move your body and remember why you fell in love with moving it in the first place.
    A runner?
Just run. Turn off the tracker. Detach from it all. Hit the pavement and go because you can without the need to post your mileage and times for the world to see. And don’t forget to roll out when you’re finished!
Bring it back to the basics, y’all.
Move mindfully. Put in the work and remember, no matter the type of movement; mobility is essential to long term success. As is a comprehensive and well-rounded program where you don’t JUST lift, dance, yoga, run, and everything in between.
Variety and a respect for the basics will keep you moving for a loooooooonnnggggg time.

  • Friday workout 😊, nikmatnya sehat itu!!!! . Happy weekend everyone and God bless you 😊

  • What to look for in bar path.
First pull: up and slightly towards you. If it moves away from you, you're not pushing the knees out of the way.

Second pull: straight up and keeping the bar close. If it gets too far from you, chances are that you're bouncing it away from you, instead of up.

Third pull: a short loop at the top; the shorter the loop, the less the bar drops/crashes on you, making the catch easier and that's the goal here

  • For time
    30-20-10x
    Burpees over bar
    Power clean 135#
    +1600m row

Got ugly quick. I did not meet my personal time cap so I added a 1600m row immediately after

  • The grass isn’t greener they’re using a filter. ✨

I have such a hard time with this. I compare myself to other people. I compare my journey to other people’s. I compare my body to beautiful and fit women. This is unfair for myself, and those I’m comparing myself to.
    -
Focusing on myself, is hard. But it’s necessary. It’s time for me to stay in my lane and be selfish. 🖤

  • I mean I’m not really good at gym selfies. And also, I cut this shirt out over ten years ago and it’s my favorite. I wanna talk about motivation for a second. You know that thing that we feel at the start of something great. Then after a week it slowly starts to die, and then after a couple of weeks it’s hardly there? Yea motivation isn’t what gets us to our destination it’s commitment. It’s Doing the hard stuff when we don’t want to. Commitment is what got me to the gym in 26* weather on a Thursday night. Commitment to myself that I mean something in this big world. So when the motivation dies, commit to yourself! Having this mindset has made all the difference in all areas in my life. You are worth It. Whatever IT means to you. #ww #weightlosstransformation #weightwatchersfreestyle #weightlifting

  • Performance isn’t consistent. Psychological factors, sleep, diet, stress, etc., all play a role. Here I talk about fatigue. Your strength or performance will fluctuate on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. Be aware of that and don’t let that define your overall ability to progress. Just keep pressing forward and your ultimate form will appear over time. The big picture awaits.
